Is doing chekha legal for filing case in Hindi tradition function

Question

Sir , myself Abhishek from utter Pradesh,my parents has done the chekha as per Hindu tradition before marriage now a month later my parents don’t want marriage with the bride party ,

So is bride party eligible to file case against us???

    Usually the bride party cannot file any case because no marriage as per the Hindu Marriage Act has been performed between the parties however what now a days the bride family do to create pressure is to file a dowry demand case against the bridegroom for the marriage to take place or to malign the image. Hence, kindly be careful and call off the marriage after having a proper panchayat which is recorded videographicaly or voice recorder.
