Employer won’t pay my salary

Question

I recently quit my previous company, on May 23rd. As per the last conversation with my boss I was told that my salary till May 23rd will be paid. However, while all the other employees have received their salaries for April, I haven’t received that yet. And he blatantly lied to my face saying that he hasn’t paid anyone yet. They have quite the reputation of not paying their dues.

Have you received the communication regarding getting your dues through mail or text or anywhere in writing? If not then it is advisable to write to the HR seeking settlement of dues at the earliest and maximum within 15 days from receipt of the mail whereafter you would be constrained to take appropriate action under law. thereafter if the company doesnt pay up, then send a legal notice and still if no dues is cleared, file a civil suit.
