OBC CERTIFICATE ISSUE

Question

Sir, I am a government employee, when I joined service I was in class C my annual income was Rs 2 lakhs annually, then i got promotion and now i am class B employee, annual income slightly more than 8 lakhs (so i am not a direct class B recruit).

I know I am eligible for OBC NON CREAMY LAYER certificate but how will I get it for my child’s admission in government institutions as states only have the principle of below 8 lakhs annual income. I don’t have income from any other sources and my wife is a housewife.

So please help!!!!

As per the government rules, you should be directly recruited to group B for becoming not eligible for the non creamy layer certificate. however since you joined as a Group C in direct recruitment and later by way of promotion, you have come to group B then, you still will come under the non creamy layer.
If one joins in group c or class 3 and becomes group b after promotion, that is still considered as non creamy layer.

Further since you are a government employee, only your entry cadre is to be seen and not your income. Hence you can directly apply before the state authority who issues the OBC certificate for a Non-creamy layer certificate and your son can avail the benefits for OBC. Mention in the form that you are a government employee recruited on the post of Group C.
