We hear it more often then not that the police is refusing to register the FIR and in some circumstances, we hear that instead of hearing the victim, the police reprimanded the victim herself. However, our law does provide relief to such victims.
The police has been the center of attraction when it refuses to register any FIR on the disclosure of an offence which may be cognizable warranting the police to register such a complaint under section 154 of Criminal Procedure Code. However, it is a known fact that most of the times, for unreasonable reasons, the police simply refuses to register the FIR and is not even ready to investigate the case. In such circumstances, the common person is not left remedy less.
Starting from making a complaint against the officer who refused to register the FIR to making a private complaint or approaching the High Court, there are many ways for getting the justice done to you. The law provides remedies and these are not commonly known to people and because of which, the police takes an advantage. Right to get justice is a basic fundamental right guaranteed under our Constitution and if that is being denied, these are just the ways to get going and get your right.
