I am a 68 year old person from Visakhapatnam.
I gave my shop on rental to a lady for tailoring. Later her son joined her business and he used to pay the rent.
He paid the rent for the last time in Aug 2019 through phonepe. After that he didn’t even came to shop nor picked my calls for straight 2 months which he used to do earlier also. From Nov 2019 he stopped paying current bills. So I tried to call him to warn him about these things but he didn’t answer the calls.
So I locked the shop in Feb 2020 having no other option and sent him an sms to meet me, vacate the shop and pay the outstanding rent. He then came to and blackmailed me that if I didn’t give him the shop he would harrass me through police. As I didn’t give hime the shop, he gave a wrong complaint against me in police station in July 2020 but police said him to pay rent first and then settle the matter with elders. But he didn’t pay me rent at that time nor did he listened to any elders in our locality.
Suddenly on 28th Dec 2020 at 2 am he tried to break the lock of the shop. I heard the noise, called the police and video recorded it and next day filed a complaint against him. From then he didn’t approach me. It’s been already 2 years and I am losing this much months nof my rent. I don’t have any registered agreement with him.
I am an old person having no source of income except this and my childern are still young.
