Alimony

Question

Me and my husband are ready for mutual divorce but the issue is he is not ready to give me alimony (one time settlement). We are married for 7.5 yrs and no kids. I’m a home maker and havnt worked since we got married. He is unemployed but has savings.

    If he is agreeable for mutual divorce and no alimony is being given then in that case after obtaining the mutual divorce, if you remain unmarried, you can claim maintenance from him by way of section 125 proceedings.
