Is their any written rent agreement between you and the landlord? your tenancy would govern by the terms agreed between the parties at the time of creating the tenancy. further, if the landlord is asking for two months rent, that is not as per law, you may file a complaint against him before the Rent controller of your area where your room is situated. furthermore, you can also file a police complaint against the harassment and extortion demand being made by the landlord.
