The bank will charge interest on an account which is a Non Performing Asset. Furthermore, you are required to check the terms and conditions of the loan agreement regarding the applicability of interest on an account which has been tagged as NPA. Further, if you have agreed for a lien on your current account, the bank is in its interest to deduct the amount from the current account to recover the EMI/loan amount considering that the accounts were connected.
