Dear sir,My father has taken vrs as company offered to them to exit early & it is public limited company. Ever year after agreement of 5years company will give gift card to all the employees likewise last year agreement was done and gift card was lately issued after one year now my father is expired now. company management is saying that employee that is my father expired we will not give or issue gift card to him as he is no more. We approached union leader regarding this he is saying that company has already taken legal opinion in this that the company cannot issue gift card to expired employees.Gift card is issued to all the vrs employees among them my father is one employee.Company management decided to issue gift card to all the vrs employees who are part of agreement but not willing to issue to expired employees as they are eligible just because they are expired hus spouse is not entitled for it.As expired employee given services like all other employees can company management show such discrimination between them.My question here is can company management do so by not issuing gift card to the spouse of expired employee as this employee is a part of the agreement like all other employees. Can company management do so by giving a cause of employee expired they are not bound to do it.
