Hello. I’m in love with my first cousin n I want to marry her. I’m from North India and you know in north indian culture it’s not good to marry from cousin. But in some city of South India it is eligible to marry from the cousin (whether it’s first, second or third cousin). I have one question according to Hindu Marriage Act, cousins cant marry (close relatives) than how it is okay to marry in south india it is also a part of our country. So if I marry my first cousin (my lovelife) in south india it is okay ? We both have been in a relationship since many years. Can we marry??? from South Indian city ? I’m confused what to do.     We are not aware if in south such tradition is present and being followed. If yes, the customary laws are allowed to be continued if they have reached the status of custom. In north india, such marriages will be considered as null and void even if performed. Hence, it is not possible to marry your cousin.
