Question

I have worked in a bank for 2 months. In the job offer letter, it says “If the employee resigns within one year of joining Bank, he/she would have to pay back an amount of Rs.1,00,000 /- to the bank towards joining and training expenses incurred by Bank”. They deducted 65,000 from the last month salary and asking me to pay Rs.35000 for release letter. I have requested company to reduce the amount as I have not applied for any joining bonus and not went for any training. I have sent 5 mails to the bank asking to show me the breakup of how the amount reached 1 lakh which the bank is denying and they are still asking me to pay Rs. 1 Lakh as per the policy. Should I pay the amount or any suggestion please?

Answer ( 1 )

  1. It is advisable not to pay the amount if indeed no training was undergone by you and no expenses has been incurred on u by the company. It is advisable to send a legal notice to the bank for payment of salary and experience letter along with reliving letter. If the bank still does not comply, it is advisable to file a suit in the district court for redressal of your issues against the bank
