I received an objection letter for my passport application which says
Question
I received an objection letter for my passport application which says “Please explain suppression of material information about your earlier application for passport and also meet the concerned official to clarify and/ or to pay penalty”
At the time of old application, there was a pending case against me so when I received the negative police verification then I got approval from the court about allowing me for receiving passport and I couriered it to the RPO office but after that there was no activity, this was probably lost in mail or the deadline was missed by 1 day.
This time when I applied I avoided the reference to old application as I wasn’t sure about the status of last application. I received the court judgement also in my favor and now there is no pending case for me.
Can you please suggest what should be my reply to this objection letter so that it gets resolved in one go and avoid the back and forth communication? Also is it necessary to be physical present in the RPO office? it’s too far from my home so If my response to the objection is very clear still do I have to be present physically?”
Answer ( 1 )
It is necessary for you to be present in the RPO office.
Further, if you have failed to mention regarding your previous application, your present application will be dismissed and your previous application has to first end in dismissal and only then the second application can proceed.
You have to explain the circumstances under which you have failed to mention regarding your dismissal of previous application. carry the certified copy of the Court order with you for explanation and the postal details which were done by you for previous application.
