invalid correspondence degree from government university
Question
Respected Sir/Madam,
I passed graduation degree from a government university in 2017. The course was offered in distance education mode. I passed the examination and received Degree and Marksheet for the degree course from the university. But recently I have come to know that the courses offered by the university in the duration which i underwent the course did not have recognition from University Grant Commission (Distance Education Bureau) the regulatory body for universities to offer courses in distance education mode. So the degree in Invalid for government services, So my time and money invested for the degree is wasted. Kindly share the legal options available to take action against the university. Because im not the only one thousands of student enrolled for distance education courses in that duration from that university.
What action can be taken against the university.
thank you

Before best advice can be given to you regarding your query, the brochure issued at the time of admission would have to be seen. If in the brochure, the information regarding having valid certificate from the UGC for running the course, is mentioned then that information being misrepresentation and fraudulent with intention to grab the money paid by you, would amount to criminal offences for which a complaint was filed. taken action appropriately.
