Juvenile be tried as Adult?

Can a Juvenile be tried as an adult under the Indian Law if the person accused for offence is of 17 years of age?

After a recent amendment carried out in the Juvenile Justice Act, the juvenile between the age group of 16-18 can in case of heinous crime, be tried as Adult and will have to face trial like a normal accused person. it would be seen if the juvenile was capable to understand and know the outcome of the Act performed by him and on basis of such examination, that juvenile can be tried as an Adult.
