Next Course of Legal Action for my Sister

Question

My sister got married last year through an arranged matrimony. We didn’t inform the groom of an earlier cancelled engagement owing to unreasonable demands from the guy’s side. He came to know after a couple of months after going through previous phone chats of my sister . He is now asking for a divorce on account of cheating . What is the legal advice you can suggest?

    This is not a ground for which divorce can be sought. The earlier marriage did not take place and neither this was required to be disclosed as ur sister was not married. Getting engaged is totally different from being married. So get a panchayat, try and solve the issue else let him file for divorce. Dont agree for mutual divorce.

    Probably the current husband may be wanting to wriggle out of the marriage and hence such a frivolous ground.

    Further if your sister is also wanting to get out of the relation, this may be taken as a ground for annulment of marriage.
