Your marriage will be registered under the special marriage act. both of you have to together apply to the Registrar. but since right now, due to corona virus, the municipal corporation etc are closed therefore it is advisable to wait for sometime.
You and your wife would need their birth certificates, your wife would need her documents attested through the embassy for proof. an affidavit is also required stating regarding the date and the place where the marriage has been performed, a clause regarding marital status at the time of marriage i.e. whether divorcee or widowed or unmarried and the Nationality of both the parties. further, you would need the proof of your marriage in the form of photographs and an invitation card as well. if your marriage is registered abroad, a certificate to that effect needs to be annexed.
Once your application is submitted, it will be published for objection by way of public notice. thereafter 30 days time is provided for inviting objections and after 30 days, the objections are decided if any received and the marriage is registered after clearing any objection is there is any.
on the 30th day as given by the Registrar, the parties are to be present with atleast two witnesses.
