Violation of Non Compete Agreement Clause in the Offer Letter

Question

I am currently employed as a Project Manager in an IT company and serving the probation period. Can I join a competitor in spite of signing a Non-Compete Agreement with the current company?

    No you cannot because you still are considered as employee and if you were to be removed during the probation period by the employer then in that case the non compete would still subsist if there is any clause relating to time period as well.
