Harresed by private loan lender

Question

Good evening sir, How are you ??

Due to financial issues i took ₹15k from one of my neighbour on 11th aug 2020 at the interest of 20%/month(₹3000/month), i was paying interest at time but in January 2021 something wrong happened and i was not able to pay him interest that month then he charged a penalty of ₹100/day till 10th of next month (interest payment date) in february also i was not able to pay and then he increased the penalty by ₹300/day and it puts too much burden on me because i had lost mine job and had no other ways of income so i was not able to pay him anything & he increased the penalty from 300 to 500 , 500 to 1000/day, then i took loan of 80,000 from somebody else and pay him (the first person to whom i take 15k) , but still some amount still reaming by march 2022…

In May 2022 the person from whom i took ₹80k was asking for his money back so unfortunately again i had to take those 80K from the first person from whom i took 15k in August 2020, at the interest of ₹19k/month + ₹3k that 15k which i took earlier, again i was paying him the interest at time but then again the same thing happened mine payment get delayed and this time he penalized ₹ 2000-2500 then ₹ 3000/ day, in short ₹90k+₹22k = (₹1,12,000/month) when i refused to pay the he frighten me by saying i will tell all this to your parents and neighbours and i can do anything to get my money back, i was scared and now he is asking me for ₹8lakh+95k = ₹8,95,000 net , and i had alreay paid him around 4 lakh (since september 2020 to January 2023 ),

I just want to know is there any legal way to get out of this situation ??
Help me out please

  1. If you have taken a loan and agreed to pay higher interest for which the other side has proof as well then in that case, they can file a civil suit for recovery against you. If he is threatening you too much, it is advisable to approach the police for the threats. Inform your family and most likely they will support you financially to clear the loan.
