I had booked a Maruti Suzuki Swift Car but there had been a subsequent delay in its delivery. During the time the price of the car has gone up significantly and the dealer is asking to pay the difference which I feel is unfair. I would like to understand whether I owe the responsibility of paying the increased price due to the delay caused by the dealer?
To answer your question, it is advisable to share the booking receipt. Kindly check the conditions mentioned on the booking receipt. it is usually mentioned on such booking receipts that the buyer is liable to pay any increase/hike in the price at the time of the delivery and any change in prices is to be borne by the buyer. if there is no condition mentioned as such, then you can get a legal notice issued to the dealer for the delay however it is difficult to claim such compensation for delay inasmuch as the usual practice in the field is to pay the amount when the delivery is being taken.
