Can I file an educational negligence case on an institute for willingly neglecting educational requirements of a student resulting in an year loss?

Question

I am an engineering student in my last year and was about to give my major project presentation this month. But My coordinators extended my project for next year willingly. The situation was that I had changed my major project company in January and properly informed the required authorized people and got permission. But now they’re saying they have no idea about it even though I have signed documents of permission. Can this be a case of negligence?

If you have documentary proof of the permission granted to you, then in that case you can file a writ petition in the high court of your State seeking direction against the college authorities for the mistakes committed by them rendering one year loss to you because of the negligence committed by them. No Negligence case as such can be filed in the consumer court because a student is not considered as consumer. Furthermore, a civil suit can lie claiming damages for the negligent act of the college authorities.
