I’m a married woman who doesn’t want to live with my partner at his parents’ home. We have a 4 year old child together. I’m okay if he moves out of that place and stays somewhere else with me. If he doesn’t, is there any way I can get financial support for the child and me.

Question

My husband’s family don’t get along with each other and I don’t get along with them as well. I’ve tried to make my husband to leave the home for good but he doesn’t wish to and says that if we are to live together, we only can at his parents’ house. I don’t want to so I’m looking to live alone with my child. Does the law has any provisions that grants me financial support?

If you are leaving the company of your husband on your own will then you are not entitled to any maintenance as per law however if you are able to show that it was due to the situations created you were forced to leave the house of the husband with the minor child, then you will be able to get the maintenance from the husband for you and your child.
