Legality of setting up IoT Weather monitoring station near a Lake I am doing some research and I want to collect some data about the local weather near a Lake. The equipment I want to setup is about the size of a small shoebox with a one foot antenna. Is there any legal paperwork or overhead that I need to complete or can I just go and set it up there.     You may set up if the same does not hamper the environment and is not a permanent structure that you are going to install however it is advisable to inform the weather department regarding the research that you are conducting purely for academic purposes because if tomorrow you publish the research and the data is found to be incorrect, you may land up in unnecessary litigation
