Spoiled Grocery from a Local Shop

Question

I went to a local shop to purchase some grocery items but to my dismay found them to be stale and the bakery items were spoiled. I went to the shop for return but he refused to refund or exchange it. What are my legal options?

If you have the copy of bill  for grocery  then you can file the consumer complaint in the consumer fora and claim the compensation for deficiency  in service.

If you have the proof that the same was spoilt and you went to return within reasonable time but he refused to take the same, as a consumer you can issue a legal notice followed by a complaint before the district consumer forum against the grocery shop. if the products bought by you have any FSSAI number on it, then you can complaint to the food department for the adulteration as well.
